Why doesn’t healthcare make you healthy?

When we think of doctor visits, we understand that this is our healthcare. But do drugs and surgery make us healthier? An online dictionary definition of health is: “The state of being free from illness or injury.”
My contention is that there is a difference between healthcare and sick care. The purpose of medicine is to eliminate or mitigate your symptoms, help you feel better and to save your life in an emergency. In essence, they are addressing your illness or sickness. For example: When you have your gallbladder taken out; are you any healthier? It may save your life but now you are actually less healthy because you can no longer store bile which is essential for breaking down and utilizing the fat in your diet. Yes, you can live without your gallbladder but you are actually at a disadvantage health wise.
By no means am I discounting the wonders of medicine. If I got into an automobile crash and my spleen fell out, I would want to go to a hospital emergency room. Conversely, if I desired to be healthier, I would go to a doctor or licensed practitioner that specializes in promoting my body’s healing from the inside out. Someone who can help me maintain optimum health throughout my lifetime.
Chiropractic helps maintain a healthy functioning nervous system. This system controls and coordinates all functions in the human body. Faulty function in the nervous system happens when there is a high level of toxicity, physical trauma and emotional stress. Chiropractic helps to restore function in the body by resetting the nervous system and improving overall function. This is healing from the inside out. Medicine addresses healing from the outside in. Chiropractic is true healthcare and medicine is sick care. Ask yourself if it is beneficial to wait until you’re sick to focus on being healthy.
