Most people equate back or neck pain with injury to the muscles or joints. Many times that is the case. However, in my 35 years as a chiropractor, I have found that the cause of your pain is often located in a completely different spot than where you're feeling it. This type of pain, known as "referred pain", and comes in different forms. For example "sciatica" comes from the lower back but travels down to the back of the leg.
Furthermore, "carpal tunnel syndrome" is wrist and hand pain that often originates from the neck, shoulder or elbow.
Another type of referred pain is viscerosomatic pain where dysfunction at certain organs can cause pain in the joints and muscles of the body. Oftentimes, people with gallbladder disease will experience right shoulder pain. As few years ago, I saw a patient with chronic lower back pain. Through my DNFT analysis I found a coronary reflex and corrected it. The lower back pain instantly vanished.
Disclaimer: I do not treat medical conditions. If, Through my analysis, I discover that a patient most likely has a medical condition, our office refers them to their primary MD for further diagnosis and treatment.
